Give to help students go! Give $50 to student missions then come enjoy a great night of food and entertainment. If you give it, you can come! We will serve you steak and/or chicken for the dinner & the entertainment is done by our students. If you wish to make a video or do a live skit, please sign up on the mothership. Anyone who appears in your video must also give their $50 to student missions.

Statewide Summer Missions Interviews

This weekend Mississippi Baptist will be having interviews for summer missionaries. The interviews are 15 minutes long and consist of questions about your life with Christ, where you want to serve, and your reason for choosing to serve this summer. Be prepared to share a little about yourself and how you came to the decision that you made. Interviews are on Friday night and Saturday. Check the mothership at the BSU to see your scheduled time- be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early and dress a little nicer than for class.

BSU Blood Drive

On Wednesday, February 13th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a blood drive at the BSU. Come give the gift of life and help someone in need. Don’t disqualify yourself because you’ve been out of the country- sign up for a time and the staff will check your eligibility. Summer Missions Interviews

Interviews for 2013 summer missionaries are happening Monday, November 26th. If you applied, make sure you are signed up on the mothership for a time to be interviewed. These local interviews are part of the process of getting assigned to work next summer. Interviews are short and be prepared to talk about why you applied where you did and what God has been teaching you this semester. Don’t forget to check your time and show up a few minutes early for your interview. When you get to the BSU for your interview, someone will come to tell you it’s your turn. See you soon!

Fall Girls Night

The Inreach Team at the BSU is having a fellowship for girls! On November 18th, at 7:15, you can get ready to make scarves, decorate cookies and watch a ‘fallish’ type movie. It will be a great time to connect with other girls, as well as bring other girls to come and meet new people. To make the scarf, you’ll need to bring a t-shirt. Hope to see you there!

Summer Missions 2013

Here’s the chance to take a step of faith and grow- to give your summer to doing God’s work. Let Him change you this summer… let Him use you to share the love of Jesus. Spend your summer like you’ve never spent it before! Take the Gospel to those who have never heard it- the greatest work on Earth! Applications for serving this summer are due November 16th. Go to www.missionsnow.net to get started on the application. When you finish, and before submitting the application, come by and let us look it over. Spread the Word

On Tuesday, October 9th at 6:00p.m. Luke Johnson will share about the hope that he has and how to become a Christian. He’ll be speaking from the ballroom on the third floor of the Thad Cochran Center. Come and bring someone you’ve been investing in to hear the true Gospel presented. All students are invited. So again, bring someone who needs to hear this good news! Also, be in prayer for this night- especially for Luke and those who have not received Jesus as Lord and Savior.

BSU Guys Kayak and Cookout

The BSU boys are kayaking the Okatoma River and then having a cookout at the Walters’ on Friday, September 14. We will meet up at the BSU at 2 p.m. to go kayaking. Once we are done we will come back to Hattiesburg for supper. This is for all BSU guys and the cost is $10. It will be a great chance to build relationships with the guys from BSU. We hope to see you there!

Survival Weekend

Get ready for Survival Weekend! Registration starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival you’ll be led to your family groups and then we’ll have dinner. Dr. Ivan Parke and his wife Mary Ann will be speaking throughout the weekend and giving Bible based advice for surviving the college years. During the weekend, family groups will compete in different games and we’ll watch videos with more tips about surviving at Southern Miss. At the end of the weekend, family groups will travel to local churches for morning service.
